Tug Of War is a timeless game of competition that has out grown more popular over the ages. Our "official" Tug Of War Rope is 75' long with sealed ends and a flag marking the middle. We have also added suggested Tug of War Rules for your next party or event. h3. SUGGESTED TUG OF WAR RULES The following is just a suggestion. You may use your own variation to the rules as you see fit. * Teams of 5 may enter. The team composition may not be changed during competition. * Individuals may wear long sleeved shirts, tape hands and wear gloves ( Holes may not be dug into the ground ) h4. DISQUALIFICATION WILL RESULT FROM THE FOLLOWING: * Sitting on the ground or on any other teammate. Should a person fall or lose balance, he or she mush recover at once. A caution against one person is a caution against the entire team. * Letting go of the rope before a pull has been completed. * At start of the pull, each team lines up behind a line in it's area. Each pull in conducted by the referee as follows: ** "Take up the rope" - Each team picks up the rope ** "Take up slack" - Both teams takes up slack evenly, without pulling. ** "GO" - When the rope is completely steady, the referee will say GO and the tugging/pulling may begin. * Only the last person may wrap the rope around the body. * A team is considered defeated when the marker crosses the line farthest from that team. The referee will signal the end of the pull. |
